What IS Detachment Styles?

Some relationship games bring you closer. This one tests your ability to survive uncomfortable truths.

Detachment Styles is a no-filter card game designed to push past small talk and straight into the conversations couples secretly want (or need) to have. Expect deep talks, unhinged debates, and maybe a minor existential crisis—together.

Meet Your Emotionally Detached Guides to Communication

You know the attachment styles. Now meet the personalities they warn you about.

Anxt

  • Lies awake at night replaying every conversation they’ve ever had.

  • Writes emotional essays, then deletes them and replies “haha no worries."

  • Thinks "we need to talk" is a personal attack.

Void

  • Thinks “let’s see where this goes” is a long-term plan.

  • Has been on dating apps for three years but “isn’t looking for anything serious right now.”

  • Doesn’t believe in labels but will take it personally if you move on first.

How it Works

1. Draw a Card

Pick a question. Read it out loud.

2. Answer Honestly

3. Use Your Tokens

Every game comes with two tokens: Anxt and Void.

  • Anxt Token – Makes your partner answer the question too. Use it when you’re feeling petty, brave, or just not going down alone.
  • Void Token – Lets you skip the question entirely. No explanation needed. Avoid the moment. Delay the inevitable.

But here’s the catch: once you use a token, it goes to your partner. So choose wisely—or don’t. That’s kind of the point.

4. Repeat Until Clarity, Laughter, or Mild Emotional Discomfort

You’ll talk. You’ll squirm. You’ll probably learn something. Whether that’s helpful or not is up to you.
